Leader Discussion - Hatshepsut

Well, it's deity. I successfully completed exploration economic LP in my last like 4 games with civilizations like Normans. Standard size, standard age length, continuity, Immortal difficulty.

Right. I don't understand why people are still having problems getting exploration economic. It used to be much harder. It can still be hard if you play Pangaea I suppose, or you just get map screwed. Send ships early, send settlers or military to the best spots after. Commanders are considered civilian units.

Granted that the patches have been messing with my games, but I've seen a LOT of variation, game-to-game, map-to-map, with the location and density of treasure resources in DL. My current game I have 3 DL towns, settled reasonably early, which have only one resource each. SLOW!

Yes, it's true that I got my first 4-5 treasure convoys before I researched Shipbuilding; that used to be a speed bump, slowing me down. The earliest convoys need to be carefully led thru open ocean, taking damage, but they still count.... for 1 pt each. If I've done the maths correctly, I will get to 30 before the end of the age. Finishing Shipbuilding means they can get home in 3 or 4 turns instead of 5 or 6... 1 pt each.

I've had past games where a town had 2 or 3 treasure resources, but not this game. My hypothesis is that's where people have difficulty.
