Until the final system requirements are known, we will only be guessing. Furthermore, they will not be available until the final build is completed. In some recent games, they have only come out a few days before release. We will have to be patient.

Well if those videos on the website are what it looks like in real time, then I think you'll need a medium to high ranged graphics card. Just because they can run 12 threads or one thread doesn't mean crappy cards can run high quality graphics(not saying you have a crappy card). You should have a good idea of what your pc can and can't run. Wait for the recommended specs, and upgrade if you desire that high level quality. I'm sure they have scaled it so their will be leaders for lower ranged systems, only it won't be at that great quality.

So based on what you just said, would this work?

And yes, I know we dont the exact specs yet but just on an educated guess, what would you say? And I know that some of you have seen me pull this out to get justification but I really want to play this so I really want to know.

I'll give you the same answer I gave you in another thread. Best guess is that this machine will run civ5. Maybe not at highest graphic settings, however we will only know for sure when the final requirements are released.

This is the only possible answer any of us can give. We don't know ourselves what will be required.

I don't really know if it will or won't play it. Looking at your specs you have 4 gigs of ram. Your graphics has 32mb then shares under 2000 with your ram(I think). If it uses all that, and 7 takes up say 1 gig, your not left with a whole lot. Also I googled you intel mobile 4 , it's roughly 5 years old, and found on the intel website a list of games it can play. For example it can play fear, low settings, choppy. I'm gonna say no, it won't play it. But I'm guessing. Maybe it will, but it doesn't sound like it's gonna be a whole lot of fun. Your gonna have to wait and see really.

yea ive gone through this on here. Ive told people my computer plays civ 4 bts super smooth. and its plays empire and napoleon total war well. also pals the sims 3 and europa universallis 3 httt.

Based on the content of the latest Podcast (#5) and the emphasis on scalability mentioned therein I would be very surprised if your laptop will not play Civ5. They even mention a 'commuter' laptop as a reference point and yours is in a higher class; actually marketed by Dell as a desktop replacement (it is way to heavy to be commuter class!).
Civilization V is, in fact, very, very scalable (amazingly so in my opinion. I can’t tell you how floored I was to hear about the gamut of machines that the game will run on.) Making the game so resilient to a wide swath of different computers – from commuter laptop to beefy gaming machine – must have been a lofty goal.

Of course we won't know for sure until they announce the formal system specs, but that does sound promising.
Good luck.

thanks. im gona need it. haha. and ive been watching and reading alot of official stuff (and subscribed to the iTunes Civ 5 podcast) and the way they speak, it sounds like they are trying to get as much of the high end stuff (i.e. nice graphics, good sound, characters, ect.) into those "commuter" laptops. I have high hopes.
