Hi there.
I would appreciate a list of the leaders in civ2 + expansion. It's for 1)something I'm making for civ3/4 and 2)a pet project documenting the changes in different games in the civ franchise (I actually had Civ2 ToT but I lost it.) Thank you in advance.

Here's a clip from the RULES.TXT config file covering the Leaders and their civs. I left the header part that documents what each column does. If you change the file extension to CSV you can import the file into a spreadsheet to align the columns correctly.

Just curious...what means this line:

govt = government type for name replacement (0 = Anarchy, 6 = Democracy)

Refers to the changing of the leader's title after changes of government eg if Frederick adopt govt 4(fundamentalism?) his title changes to archbishop.

The title is not unique per government type. Fundamentalist Japanese leader is a High Priest, Fundamentalist German leader is Arch Bishop, and Fundamentalist Persian leader is Ayatollah.

I realize that. The answer I got seems to imply that the change (to whatever that civ's title might be) only happens when the civ reaches a *particluar* government as indicated in that file. My point was that I thought title changes happened at every government change. (meaning that entry in the file would be for something else.

There is a "default", like High Priest for Fundy, but the special titles apply to particular civs (like Arch Bishop and Ayatollah).
