My PC has a ATI RadeonHD 3650. I can run M2:TW on full with no problems.

ETW does not let me set the settings above medium on many options, or above low on a few settings.

ETW on low, can just about compete with M1:TW. It gets blown away by RTW or M2TW or any sort of decent setting.

Just a sample of what low equals: The units are pixellated in places, and many of the units "slide" rather than walk.

Anyway I can get ETW to stop trying to protect me from myself and let me turn the settings up?

The ATI Radeon HD 3650 is not a very good card, and I know that you simply cannot run (it is impossible) some features on some cards because they make use of a certain shader (like 3.0) that the card does not have.

Yes, the 3650 is missing many things, but shader model 3 is not one of them.

And the things it lacks should not cripple the graphics so much. With the settings that are forced on me, RTW on my old nvidia 5200 looked better than ETW on my HD 3650. At least units walked on that.

I just though you could probably google around, perhaps you can change settings manually in a script within one of the game files somewhere...

Well, I have no doubt the 2900 is superior to the 3650 for a few reasons:

2900 is a desktop card, which means it is probably 512mb while the 3650, being a laptop card, is only 256mb.
2900 is the high end card of the 2x00 cards while 36x0 is the mid range card of the 3x00 series.

It's the same way the nVidia 8800 was the best graphics card going for absolutely ages.

Like I said Tony, try looking in the _strat and other files in your med 2 folder, I'm pretty sure you can manually edit your graphics settings.

Ha, didn't even notice I'll try to read OP from now on!

It's ETW, not M2TW thats having problems.

There's a file I can edit with the settings according to a quick google, but it seems to be ignored.
