*Visit the 2Kgames website to find out how to get this (readme in downloads).
Just wanted to start a discussion on the "new" level editor.
Hints: Start with a scenario for first attempt and only add a few cities and industries and then save and play it to see how it all works.
Cities and Industry are placed in the entities level menu which you need to save before leaving that menu, you'll see the diskette save icon. This saves the XML portion of the scene that provides properties about the city. The interface is still a little raw so you will have to become acquainted with it before it becomes useful.
When placing cities and industry some graphic elements will be missing or in the wrong place, the fix tool will correct that. Try to center the spot you want to place a resource on the screen. This will make it easy to work with due to a minor bug in the local coordinates used on that graphic. Example, in the coal mine, the bins of coal are scattered some times. When you move the mine, the bins stay at the old location but don't worry about it as it will be fixed later when you click the fix tool. After placing new cities and industy be sure to click the fix tool. It will look better in the actual run once it loads.
Problems so far while running. In one sceno I created, the cites won't accept cars, furniture, goods or food for the people. Only industries will accept paper, steel and other raw materials. Passengers will travel as normal.
Cities are not the correct size when starting.
Cities do not have the same industry I set when I laid it out. Example, I set Allentown, PA to make steel but ended up with a paper mill and slaughter house
