Liberating Slaves

I appreciate the info... but have a slightly different question that bugs me....

There are many times that some of my workers get captured, and on the very next turn, I will kill the capturing unit and find out that my captured workers have just dissappeared... WTH !! How can they just disappear ?? I should always have the option of liberating my captured workers. It irks me that the AI seems to have special options that are not available to me?

any opinions??

In your case, the AI disbanded your workers, because it believed that it could not bring those slaves safely back to home.

IIRC, for the AI, "safely back to home" means getting the workers into their territory by the next turn. So if your workers are captured deep in your own territory, then the AI will disband them. But if your worker are captured right on the border, then the AI will move them back onto the other side of the border. Then, you can send a unit to capture them back :) Liberating the slaves, so to speak.

SJ Frank is absolutely right i have noticed this quite recently in a game ...

Regarding the AI's dip optinion about you when their 'slaves' are owned ...
I wonder if trading this 'slave' with another civ would alter -
>Dip relationship b/w the original and new owners?
>Better your standing with the original civ?
