limit tech levels

Is there a utility or mod that allows me to limit how far i can advance in technology when play on any map or scenarios. For instance when I'm playing on a map i can only reach up to ancient times and not any further.

I'm guessing you mean limiting both yourself and the AI? Probably the easiest way would be to go into Civ3Edit (or Civ3ConquestsEdit), check Modified Rules, delete all the techs after whatever limit, delete all buildings after whatever limit, and delete all units after whatever limit (if you don't delete the latter two they'll be available immediately). I don't believe there's any easy way to delete an entire era at once.
