I am slowly finding out that leaders have traits other than Financial, Creative etc. They also have secondary traits and personalities. Some are more willing to make even deals while trading, others demand deals that very favorable to them. Some will go to war at the drop of a hat, others need to be provoked. Some seem to fall behind in the tech race, others speed ahead. Is there a list or discussion somewhere of these secondary leader traits?

All over these forums you'll find talk about that.
What you're talking about is all recorded and defined in the BTS reference sheets. eg Catherine is 1 of 2 leaders (I think) that will declare war on you even at Friendly.

Examples of personalities.
1) Gandhi can be bullied for gold without ever holding a grudge.
2) Tokugawa is the most reluctant to open borders with you.
3) Isabella is a zealot who hates anyone not of her faith.
4) Shaka is the best AI military leader.
5) Montezuma is the most unpredictable and agressive leader in the game.:crazyeye:
6) Boudica likes to play rough but can be a loyal companion if you play your cards right:rolleyes:
7) Never trust Russian redheads.
8) Ghengis is least likely to accept close borders for an extended period of time.
9) Sitting Bull makes alot of demands early and dares you to attack him.
10) Alexander, the AI most likely to declare war on you the earliest
11) Julius, AI most likely to make a stupid naval assault from a distant continent
12) Ragnar, AI most likely to make a GOOD naval assault for another continent.
13) Qin, mos tlikely backstabber.
14) Musa, most likely to sell his mother's soul for a tech.
15) Brennus, one of the more loyal AIs once you butter him up.

I could go on and on, but that is enough for now.

Great thread, pholtz - I've wondered the same thing. I've caught bits and pieces from browsing this forum, but never seen a comprehensive list. I would love one.

I think this basically applies back to Vanilla, at least in terms of general leader personalities? but as far as a comprehensive guide for the entire game I'm not sure where that is, other than to read around in the War Academy and find what you need there.
