List of minor bugs

First, it would be nice to break out forums a bit to make it easier to find things.

1) Tech support (crashing, behaviour questions)
2) Verified gameplay bugs (repeatable) -- lock posts
3) Nebulous bugs (crashes, etc) that have data
4) Improvement requests (not quite suggestions, but not quite bugs)

Anyway, here are a list of small items that I have run across that are annoying but not game breaking.

Giving orders to fortify sometimes needs to be repeated

This generally happens when I click on a city, then click the specific unit. Sometimes also when I have shift-selected a batch.

Watermills aren't always placed correctly

It would be nice to be able to specify where the watermill goes. However there are some circumstances where it should be obvious; if the other side of the river cannot have a mill (city, hill, etc) then point it in that direction.

Watermill graphics are hard to see, and frequently display on the wrong tile

Since they sit on the river the tile usually looks empty, and a lot of times I actually have the watermill graphic on the other side of the river (overlay on a farm, for example).

Don't display techs/resources as 'tradeable' if the opponent won't talk

Some wonders are not grouped correctly

Versailles, the Forbidden Palace, and the Palace are group with the buildings rather than wonders. It makes them easy to miss when checking build options.

Icon space for techs/resources is not large enough

When you have a lot of resources or techs, it wraps but doesn't display correctly (it's mostly hidden under the next bar). The icons should be reduced in size enough to allow for two rows (shouldn't be a big issue, they are very large right now).

West point requires a unit upgraded to level 5, not just 17+ exp

I'm not sure this is a bug, but I don't think you should have to upgrade the unit to get the benefit.

The demographics for anything but score show dead civs

If you look at the demgraphics (GDP, culture, anything but score) all civs show up even after the date where they were destroyed.

SUGGESTIONS
These are suggestions that would improve gameplay rather than outright bugs.

  1. Display the terrain and improvements under unit display, especially for workers
  2. Provide a method for determining defensive odds
  3. Give a visual indicator for troops loaded on a given ship
  4. Provide a way to specify which GL gets used for a GA
  5. Display combat odds even if not at war
  6. Show which units in a stack have partial movement pts

Selecting units is a pain

Ok, this is mostly a suggestion not a bug, but I think it needs some serious work. It's also hard to make it work 'correctly' so I'm presenting some ideas that would make it much easier.

  1. Let us ignore fortified units when selections.
  2. Let us ignore wounded units when making selections.
  3. Don't select a whole group when using shift-select.
  4. Let us disable the ability to mass-upgrade mixed unit groups, and possibly any unit group (optional).

When I saw it the colored area just shrunk into a point.
That meant it's statictics were at 0.
I think that is how it should be.
