edit: Problem disappeared...I don't know why
I downloaded a number of mods yesterday, and just tried starting a game when I noticed that the list of civilizations (in the advanced setup) is repeating. The same list shows up about 14-16 times.

and so on
Also, even though I have no mods enabled at the moment, they seem to still be active. many of the civs added by mods are still in the list, and barbarians are still referred ti as zombies.
help or advice is very much appreciated.
Game installed from disk, registered on steam, all dlc's downloaded as well, win7 x64 system.
