Worker automate is not fair is sucession games - please do not use it.
Also, no long go to orders. Don't fortify ships in the middle of the ocean.
Patch 1.21 required.
MUST attach games in the .ZIP format. I have have 2 destroyed games recent them may have been from posting using the .SAV format.

Civ = Iroqoius
World = Large - 1.21 version, Wet, Warm, 5 Billion, large continents.
Difficulty = Regent
Diplomatic and Space race disabled
Minor mod to attempt to reduce AI trading

Barbarians = Roaming
# Civs = 10
24 hours to verify you can play your turn, 48 hours to play.
Your choice - up to 10 turns. You can always play less.
NOTE: Unlike typical LK series, this will be reduced later in the game to 5 - I just have to decide when

Scenario rules:
1 - Once contact is made - war must be declared. During the first meeting we may trade (NO per turn - cash / wm / techs), in fact maps are a great thing to get ;)
2 - We are free to avoid borders / units to delay contact, but once made rule #1 comes into effect.
3 - We may NOT build Small or Large wonders except by leader rushing.
4 - We must always have at least 1/3 of cities in military mode - walls / barracks / airport / units / settlers (expands the empire!).
5 - We can NEVER offer a peace treaty.

Current Game plan:
Tightly packed cities. We need plenty of low corruption cities.
Barracks ASAP.
First goal for leader - Army (At least mounted warrior army), or Pyramids.
Keep the workers away from borders.

ALWAYS check page one for game plan notes.

This will be the last LK game for a while - I am concentrating on Open games - we have a lot out there

I'd like to give this one a go Lee. I could use some warmongering practice. Right now just RBD-21 and grabbing open games occasionlly. (Already patched to 1.21f and played a couple of SP games).

Garsonga

Put me up but- preferably last in the rotation. So far I have owned Civ 3 for about two months and have won ONE regent game. Would be nice with some practice, and I get to watch the experienced players.

I'm in....if you'll have me :)

If not... :suicide:

EDIT: Actually, I'll skip this one. Too much work getting my own up and running ;)

Lee, I can't tell if this game was intended for those who are NOT currently playing in LK21.

Give priority to those who are not playing in LK21, but I'm a little short of succession games and will play if you end up with a spare slot.

Erik Mesoy - Sorry, but if you have won just ONE regent game, this is to advanced for you. This style is equal to playing Monarch at least due to the difficulities with fighting the world.

For the other players looking to war monger - check out the China world map game - fighting galore, trying to avoid goverment collapse, wiping Babylon from the face of the earth -
starting fleet to invade Japan, new war with Russia - Indian SoD - etc....

Sign me up if you want more people. This would be my first succession game but I have read a lot of them. I usually play and win at monarch level.

I was hoping that the armies made for me would allow 10 turns where it would be hard to screw up. Oh well, maybe it was just as well that I got dropped.

Uh, gee, want a goody hut?

LAK-013.jpg

4000 BC - We haven't even formed a city, but the Apache tribe teaches us Masonry.

3950 BC - The great city of Salamanca is formed - On a hill as part of a massive flood plain.

3900 BC - I find a deserted village.

3700 BC - The Inuit tribe teaches us Bronze working.

3600 BC - Find another hut, $25.

3100 BC - The Incan tribe teaches us The Wheel. No sign of horses :(

3000 BC - The Saxon tribe teaches us Alphabet.

We get a hint of the competition -
America, English, Persia , India, Aztecs, Japan, Egypt

2670 BC - The scout gets orders to reverse direction - a border is spotted!

2590 BC - Finally, Niagra Falls is formed - warrior is started.
Our first palace expansion.

2550 BC - Salamanca gets hit by disease.

2470 BC - Free warrior from a tribe - we can use another explorer.

2390 BC - Niagra falls starts our first barracks.

2150 BC - First contact, England - they even with us for tech - they have 3 cities.
Attempt to extort $10, no luck - WAR!
We get a free scout - hey, early exploring helps!

2110 BC - Our conscript warrior dies trying to kill a barb.

Summary - Now that I got this going - 10 turns each.
There are Silks, Incense very close, Wines and Gems - luxuries won't be a problem.
On the other hand - where are the horses?
Watch Salamanca - switch between hills and flood plains as needed.

Goals - Horseback riding, Writing, Literature - The Great Library helps us big time.
City upgrades - barracks, walls, temples.

Dangers - source of horses.

A question about tactics/rules:
Q: Can we make peace, extort whatever, and end peace talks by redeclaring war?

Another War game? Cool  Sorry I missed the signup.. I'll be watching it, looks like fun.. Awesome goody hut luck there.

But a Large map? I thought that was why you were having trouble with LK21? Or do you have fewer enemies now?

NO -

I will correct the front page for this one.

@brian - I cut the # of civs by 2.
Space Race is NOT allowed as I planed for the other one.
Minor mod to slighty reduce AI trading.

Now if our 2 scouts can find some more huts...

(IT) 2110 BC Everything looks good, I'm going to take the scout north looking for good city sites.

(1) 2070 BC Southern scout spots a barbarian to the southwest, hauls butt north.

(2) 2030 BC Worker finishes irragating wheat near Niagara, move to east start a road. Scout still running from barbarian.

(3) 1990 BC Southwest scout spots barb camp beelines outta there.

(4) 1950 BC Salamanca finishes settler starts warrior. Moving settler southeast to found city on hill by river two golds can be grabbed.

(5) 1910 BC Another barb spotted east of Niagara Falls, run worker into city to save his hide.

(6) 1870 BC Barracks completed in Niagara Falls started spearman. Barb warrior attacks Niagara falls and ..... is eliminated by defending warrior, darn no promotion.

(7) 1830 BC Southwest scout spots English warrior runs the other way, evasive action by settler to avoid barbarian southeast of Salamanca.

(8) 1790 BC Hire an entertainer in Niagara because of unrest, we need a temple and more troops there. A spearman will be finished in 3 turns should help.

(9) 1750 BC Another English warrior spotted in the southwest evasive action.

(10) 1725 BC Grand River found on the river, imagine that! Should be good production city.

Man that was a fast 10 turns, looking good, founded another city and built two more troops. Spearman will be finished in 2 turns in Niagara Falls, may want to start a temple or perhaps another spearman, I'll leave that decison to the next ruler.

Good Luck!

Garsonga

Does Niagra falls have a barracks?
If no, switch to barracks first.
With constant war - we need the troop edge.

Current Game plan:
Tightly packed cities. We need plenty of low corruption cities.
Barracks ASAP.
First goal for leader - Army (At least mounted warrior army), or Pyramids.
Keep the workers away from borders.

Figure out how to get that Incense - the city placement for the gold, as made getting incense hard.

Do we switch Salamance to Scout or Spearman?
We do need to investage land around Niagra falls.

I think I will build a colony on the incense, a town there would hurt more by bringing us 1 closer to the optimum city limit that we would gain from its production.
Also, something that just occurred to me, in a "normal game" I would be inclined to put a town there so as not to have to worry about some other nation "stealing" it from me; but in this game I will not have to worry about getting into war :D over the luxury.

Before I had the above thought, I was going to suggest building a town east of Salamanca in the jungle to get the silk. Maybe I should look to build closer to Salamanca with an eye toward our getting the silk via colony.

I will grab the game later today when I get home.

There is plenty of land around the silks - create a city - it is close to the capital and will be a powerhouse city someday - even a small city will support free troops under depositism / monarchy (best we will see).

The incense - I agree - I hate colonies, but in this case it is the only logical option.

We do need to start another settler soon.

Goals - Find horses! I picked Iroqoius for the good offensive unit that upgrades all the way to cavalry, but without horses...
