LK22 - Always War - Iroqoius

(0) 975 BC Looking over the map, everything looks good. Still looking for some horses, try to build some more cities and keep the defense up.

(1) 950 BC No much happened worker finished mine near Niagara Falls started road.

(2) 925 BC Babylon warriors cover our iron deposit, we'll have to take care of that in a little bit.

(3) 900 BC Northwest archer explorer new territory. As is southern warrior.

(4) 875 BC Spearman completed in Niagara Falls started settler. Archer completed in Grand river started spearman. Archer attacks english warrior near Grand river and defeats him.

(5) 850 BC Salamanca finishes spearman starts temple. Northwestern archer attacks barbarian rider on a hill, and wins, horses discovered!!! Now to get a settler over there.

(6) 825 BC Moving Northwestern archer to clear out barb camp. Want to get that area ready for a settler.

(7) 800 BC Our archer clears the barb camp, and pillages 25g.

(8) 775 BC Area by the horses has 2 wheat and can be founded on the coast, should be able to churn out Settlers/workers once it gets started.

(9) 750 BC Settler completed in Niagara Falls, started spearman. Settler and spearman escort heading towards Horsevilles site.

(10) 730 BC Two more Bab warriors are approaching Niagara Falls from the east. One spearman defending another will be ready in 4 turns. We should be okay.

Well, I found horses. The settler/spearman stack North of Salamanca is heading for the horses. The next leader can determine exact location. However, I recommend founded on the coast with in range of the two wheat if possible that would be an awesome settler/worker farm. Good Luck to the next leader.

OUCH - I see the babs destroyed our nice mined hill.

Be carefull with the southern warrior - I don't want green border to be aware of us yet. We are to small at the momemt.

After the temple in Salamanca - we need to start using that city for it's primary purpose - workers and settlers.


GOALS - Connect the horses. We can then start thinking offense.
Base on LK21 expierence - a lot of captured workers can do wonders for developement.

I decide that the city ON the horses is better - Later ships can't bomb our horses. This may be our ONLY source.
Yellow is culture zone after temples.
This will create a nice culture block to avoid pillage roads to horses.
 
I will be skipping games for a bit.
Even the biggest civs junkies have 1 limitation - a working PC.
I have to ship my PC back for repair :(

Thur Night - No PC, can't play.
Fri Night - No PC, can't play.
Sat All day - some PC access, will see what I can complete.

preturn -- Hmmm seems the Persians know about us. Xerxes does not have any tech to trade us so I ask for all his cities, it would just save us the time of conquering them :D Xerxes is unreasonible and refuses, so we are at war with him.

710BC Settler OTW to horses. Worker moving to build road.

690BC Our spearman, defending Niagra Falls, kills 2 babs and becomes elite.

670BC MMWM

650BC MMWM Bab bowman approaching Niagra Falls. Our exploring archer meets the Saxons and receives 50 gold.

630BC Another spearman is promoted to elite defending Niagra Falls against the babs.

610BC MMWM

590BC MMWM

570BC Niagra Falls produces bowman, he attaks the bab still in our territory, he dies wounding the bab. Our elite Spearman kills the bab and we get the GL Shenandoah [dance]

Allegheny is founded on the horses.

Because of the GL I did not play my tenth turn, what do you want to do with him?

I left our GL in Niagra Falls. It is one turn till we know Lit. I think we should use him to rush either the Great Library or the Pyramids.

How about building the town in between the horses and Salamanca in the middle of the forest? Or was the overlap for protection?

Barrius has 24 hours for I got it.

The city in the middle of the forest would lose a valueable culture affect. When 2 cities borders have just 1 row seperating them - that row is also claimed. This set up overlapping borders faster - very usefull for slowing down fast units. This is partially for protection.

The leader - Send to Steve's Silkland. Wait to the barracks complete (1 turn). Start, then Rush - The Great Library. Based on the science problems I saw in LK21, the library is more important. Get a spearman to the city asap.

Rules for leaders - try to get max shield effects. That is what my choice of turns for leader is based on.

Next leader - Pyramids or army. However, I lean toward Pyramids.
 
I left the leader "active" and did not end the turn at space bar to continue. You can move the leader before the end of thisw turn. There are Babs in the area so be careful.

Sorry for not having posted earlier :o and not to make an excuss but the forum being down did contribute to my delay in posting.

After reviewing my beating in the Emperor training game, I realize I"m playing 2 Iroquois

We learn Literature and start Map Making for lack of a better suggestion.

A Bab warrior appears near NF.

(2)510 BC:
The G.Library is built!

We find a Barb camp with the archer. He takes it out, despite being down to 1hp.

English archers and warriors near Grand River and Bab Bowman and Warrior near Niagara

Falls.

I don't see walls being built, do we want them? Barracks?

An English Archer dies after afflicting grievous wounds on our defending spearman. The Babs

want to talk.. Sorry charlie..

NF builds another spearman. I decide NF is my troop training base. Another spear ordered

up.

Southern warrior spots a barb.

(4)470 BC:
The southern warrior also spots 2 English archers! :eek: He dies attacking them.

Cattaraugus is founded as per Lees suggestion.

Archer in the west spots a goody hut.

Nothing from the GL yet.. we are technicologically advanced.

The English want an audience! What pests. I send the messanger's head back to Liz on a

pike.

barb horsies showing up from all sides! Well, from 2 sides anyway.

(6)430 BC:
Time for some offensive units. NF starts an archer.

Our archer survives the attack by a barb horse, approaches the goody hut.

(7)410 BC:
An English warrior near GR beats on a Barb horsie for us.

Our archer defeats a barb horse and gets a map of the region for his troubles.

We are losing 4gpt. We have a lead in tech and are getting no benefit from the GL. I am

going to drop the science rate for a while, let the next leader decide what to do. Rate now

5.4.1 giving us a 9gpt surplus.

(8)390 BC:
A quick turn. Our archer kills another BH.

(9)370 BC:
Salamanca starts barracks. This can be vetoed by the next leader.

babylon has claimed the Daimond hills north of NF.

(10)350 BC:
Our archer takes out a Bab bowman and a warrior before being defeated by another bowman. A

Persian warrior appears near NF.

A barb warrior appears near our worker in the forest beside Cattaraugus. Protect it!

I'm done. 10 turns flew by..

Pre-Turn - Not much to change.

(1) 330 BC - Kill a barb by Catta... - no promotion.
330 BC (I) - Map making for Free - I love the GL.
Begin Monarchy research.
Nf completes archer - orders another.
Steve's won't grow for awhile - starts walls.
Can't save much time - so science to 10%

(2) 310 BC - Archer vs. Bowman a failure, we lose archer.

(3) 290 BC - 10% luxuries to keep nf productive.

(4) 270 BC - Our archer still healing.
270 BC (I) - gr orders up an archer.

(5) 250 BC - Luxuries to 20%
250 BC (I) - nf, yet another archer

(6) 230 BC - Working heading to spot for last road segment for horses.
Switch gr to walls.
230 BC (I) - English start the Pyramids.

(7) 210 BC - Our archer destroys a barb camp, plus $25.
Road to connect horses starts - 3 turn eta.
Our now elite archer kills a Persian warrior.
We lose a warrior, then the other two are killed by spearman - I know, risky, but I needed to cleanup a stack somewhere.

(8) 190 BC - I am watching a lot of Babylon Bowmen crossing borders without a clue.

(9) 170 BC - Catta warrior kills another barb horseman.
170BC (I) - 2 babylon bowmen die trying to attack Salamanca. :)
Salamanca orders Mounted Warrior [dance] nf switch to mw.

(10) 150 BC - Let's hope Babylon attacks again on Salamanca - City on a hill behind a river ;)

Summary - Mounted warriors on the way. We do need to get offensive at some point - Babylon is closest, clear first target.
Not sure when, but we need to settle more cities soon.


I seen a couple of comments - 10 turns to short. Trust me, based on LK21 it will take forever soon. 10 LK21 turns took me 6 hours 1 time.

Any chance you guys still look for extra player? My DS1 is finished with a domination. :D And DS2 will probally start soon but it will be slow at the beginning. ;)
