Loading Local Multiplayer save file issues

hello all, there are some issues I am having when loading a local multiplayer Civ 5 save file.

First off, when the game is up and people join the lobby they do enter the correct civilization slot. Their slot name changes from what it was initially.

ex: my friends starts the game as Egypt and his steam name in the our civ 5 lobby is 'TheCivGuy'. The next day I load our civ save file and the game doesn't recognize the steam name (thecivguy) that is labeled in his slot. His log in name changes to 'dsmith' and he takes the first available open slot. 'dsmith' would be his actual name abbreviation so I am wondering if windows or the network we plan on is somehow defaulting him to that.

This happens to everyone in our game. Our work around has been when I create the lobby, I have everyone join one at a time. The first person in takes the top slot, so I let them know when to join so they have the correct civilization.

The other issue is when the game was started, we had no max turn limit. Now when the game is loaded in the lobby max turns is turned on and set to 330.

I have all expansion but I am playing vanilla version with 5 other people who don't have the expansions. I turned all expansions off when starting the game.

Does anyone know why this happens and how it can be avoided in the future?
