Loading Problem

Some kind of loading problem

I have no idea if this can be reproduced. Um... 1. Try to load a saved game/start a new game???


This is kinda weird. When my new game or load game is loading, everything goes as normal, until the loading is complete. After it's done, the loading screen remains there for 5 or so minutes, then it stays there in front of a black background while the windy sound effect plays for another 5. Is this supposed to happen? My computer is up to date, with XP, service pack 2, fully expanded digital memory, etc., etc.. There are many lagging problems when it finally does load and often crashes. Please help, I don't want to have to wait another week for sending it there and back to Dallas or wherever I ordered it from.

Hm... it probably shouldn't stay at the loading screen for ten minutes on end after its already done loading, SHOULD IT?

I have the same problem when I load a huge map, however when I back down to a large map everything works fine. My system is a Sony P4, 1.8 ghz, 1 GMB, with a geforce 5500 256k video. Graphics set to medium settings.

It is doesn't always happen, I have successfully played on a huge map until the end with very little lag. But most times when I try it loads very slow and is too laggy to play even the first turn.

Hm, I was playing on standard. Anyone else have any idea what to do? Take 2 doesn't answer their phones and they dont know the definition of customer service. Sigh...

I believe I have the same problem when I try to load a saved game when another game is already running. The same huge map saved game would load in under 20 seconds if I try to load it at the main menu, but if I try to load it in game, then the load would take over 3 mins to complete. I have the same windy sound you were experiencing.

Well that happens to me on ANY load. I'm getting really frustrated and am about to send it back to Dallas, no matter how much I don't want to.
