Loading takes forever with 256ram...

I tried to load savegame, but i ended up waiting 45min, then i just couldn't stand it anymore and restarted my pc. Now, plz tell me, how can i reduce those horrible loading times ?

Get more ram, and/or a better computer.

As much as it might have been the answer you didn't want to hear, it's true. Even with 768 MB RAM, I think I am having problems.
