Well, in my current game i am in the Industrial Ages and around this time, other civs start to struggle less financially. One of my neighbors, the Cherokee (don't ask why; its a mod) has a good amount of gold coming in per turn and i figured giving them a loan could make me a little profit.
This is an even trade:
loan 400 gold ----------recieve 20 gpt, or 400 gold when it is added up. the profit is zero.
However, i have fooled around with the negotiating table and got this.
loan 350 gold ---------Recieve 20 gpt, or 400 gold. So essentially, i make 50 gold at the end of 20 turns.
the base to use for this is
loan 18 gold--------Recieve 1 gpt, or 20 gold. The AI doesn't seem to accept less than 18 gold for every 1 gpt. This might not be the case for other civs, since, i have only tested it on one so far.
One thing i noticed though, as the amount they pack back per turn increases, the above standard will get closer and closer to loaning 20 gold per 20 received per turn, but never actually reaches it.
Has anyone made a chart or something of this before? This could be potentially profitable on top of resource and tech trading.
Let me know if anything isn't clear, i'll explain if you need it to be clarified.
