Locating Grandfather?

Hi friends,

I purchased Pirates PC (DVD) along with installing the patch; everything appears to work correctly.
Presently, i am around 3/4 finished the game (apprentice mode).
I have the full map to locate : lost grandfather.

Location: South East of Villa Hermosa, near a landmark called Rum Rock of which i cannot locate.
I searched both sides of Villa Hermosa along with the complete rear area of Hermosa and cannot locate the lost grandfather.
Additionally, the map was provided to me twice in the game which i find very odd since i already aquired the map...
Although, only one map is noted and viewable.

This is frustrating and i am starting to believe their is a bug in the game.

Hopefully, someone in the forum can provide more information as to where i can search for the lost individual; perhaps i am searching in the incorrect area?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

south east of VH could be as far as the bay of honduras.
Most likely, look in that rather sizeable cove to the east for rum rock.
If not there, look in the lake located at the SE corner of the bay of honduras (inland) SE.

the interesting trick is that if you can walk through landmarks (like dead trees) you are not in the correct area.
If you cannot walk through them, you are somewhere near your map.

Woo Hoo!

I located the old coot south east of Liberteirate Haven!
Rum Rock is actually in two locations, one is easy to see but the other (correct one) requires one to sail very close to the shore line.

Sid could have used a more locatable landmark...

sometimes those land marks are underneath a settlement too.
