Long turn times-Randomly started happening.

I've played many games of Civ5, all had reasonable waiting times between turns.

My current game the waiting time has jumped into the stratosphere. Nothing that I can discern has changed about my computer. I am not playing on a larger map that before. I am not playing with more civs than before, with any different mods. Really I cannot see anything different, yet all of a sudden I am waiting 5 minutes between turns.

Is there something specific to this gamesave that could be screwing things up?
