I'm really starting to not like civ right now. Only because I am in the mid-industrial ages. Im on an arch. map and my nearest civ is 5 turns away. I have a won game, but I'm just geting tired of going through my turns so slowly. It takes forever. I can't war with anyone anymore becuase the other civs just got replacable parts, and I'm still about 3 techs from tanks. I'm up refining, the corporation, and steel on the AI though. It's just getting boring waiting until I can get my techs and then waiting 5 turns until I can fight the nearest civ.

Arch maps do slow things down. Try going with a pangea map, or a smaller one.

It's possible that you are also good enough that it's not really a challenge for you and you should move up a level.

Inf are not fun, but armies can deal with them or you can use bombardment units to weaken them.

Island maps can be sluggest, since every route has to be checked when you cut roads. raze town, sell harbors and such.

If you hold shift while the computer is moving, it fast-forwards all of their movements. If you haven't tried it yet, try it.

I havn't tried this yet, but if it works, then that would be great. Because my neighbour Japan is moving their troops around their roads for literally minutes.

i thought you could turn others movements off in the settings and this speeds it up..

also what is the button for moving all in one pos to another pos?
and how do you get them into an army ?

There are a couple of terms that are easy to confuse.

A bunch of units that sit on the same tile, and move together ...
that is usually called a "stack". These can be moved using the stack move
commands described above by Civverguy. A really *big* stack is known as a
"Stack of Doom"

When you have a Great Leader (vanilla or PTW) or Military Great Leader (C3C)
it is possible to form a special unit combination, called an "army".
The leader is converted into a special "army" unit, and you can then
load land units into it, similar to loading them into a ship.
These units are permanently joined, and get bonuses when fighting. :ar15:
