Hi there,

I've found myself a new passion and discovered the world of isolation. I enjoyed a lot the NC 204:

(It is openly marked as LHC edition, so no spoiler.)

I really love that aspect of teching alone, of building up a solid economy and especially of disposing of a given space, most likely one island that I can settle in my own pace. Everthing is fine and so far, I have not been falling behind too much.
But, the gameplay gets quite rigid, when you know that you can never attack before astro. Even then, you need much more preparation than usually, not only the boat-production, but also reaching at the same time the key military techs and the seafaring ones. When you launch your attack then, you enter a completely hostile continent where you have no base at all, and where you also risk to get DOWed by other neighbours, because you have maybe misread the diplo situation. It is really tough. My great admiration for all those, who can win a domination from a full-isolated position on immortal and above.

That's why I am looking for maps that provide a little "loop hole". Let's call it semi-isolation, either with one AI on the same continent or even better, a map where I can reach someone or several AI's by workboat, where connection is there, but I have to build a "sea bridge". A map that leaves me the choice between staying isolated or invading another continent little by little and not necessarily all at once with major force.

Btw, I already know those Frederik NC maps (where you are semi-isolated with Napoleon / Willem), I am rather looking for that type of isolation with a little chance to slip into another continent early enough. So if you know something from the forum, please let me know.
WB-save would be perfect, as I'd rather play without events/huts and on iso-games also without tech brokering.
Every leader is fine, prefereably one with economic and not with military traits.

Thanks for your hints,

thanks @krikav

Ragnar was never my favorite, as I was avoiding archipelago and similar maps for longtime but I have to tell that I like that map already after the first 20 rounds

you could do a lot of funky stuff here, like colossus, circumnavigation bonus, domination of the oceans
