I am looking for 1 serious multiplayer partner to start a game and play a couple of hours 1 night a week at a regular time each week. Parameters are negotiatible on Play the World version.

I am experienced in AI play, Not much multiplayer experience.

I'm willing to play. The thing is, I can play quite a bit until August 11, and then after that I can't really stick to a schedule, but I should probably be able to play an hour a week. Judging by my experience, you won't find much more commitment than that. :/ Sorry if it's not serious enough for you. We can always contact each other via PM, to find out when we can play each session, instead of sticking to a rigid schedule. I live in Alabama, so that's only one hour behind you; which is great for MP.

Here are my suggested settings, if you wanna play:

-regent
-simultaneous moves
-small map
-Sn00py's graphics
-random map settings
-all victory conditions enabled except for UN
-some sort of quick victory condition, such as regicide or elimination
-my civ: Iroquois

But of course feel free to make any changes. Also, I have version 1.21f, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you use that version. In fact, I wouldn't want to play you if you don't.

Let's hope this works out. :) I started a multiplayer thread myself (see sig), but so far nothing's really happened. If this goes well, I'll "stop" my other thread (by telling everyone I'm not interested anymore).

I am game. I will be on vacation Aug 3-10. We can schedule the next session from each session. How bout a regular size map. You can name the other features. I am good with the ones that you have named so far. I will tell you that I am very experienced playing AI, but not so with multiplayer. May need a little help in getting set up.

I will use Celts.

I can play for an hour tonite at 10:00 for an hour.

Sorry, I was away from home and missed last night. Standard size map is fine. How many AI opponents do you want? Maybe zero or one? Two would probably the most I'd want. The more AI, the greater the possiblity that we never/rarely have any interesting contact.

I'm not all that experienced in multiplayer, but I know the basics (getting set up, how it works, etc.). I'll be there when you set it up, so we can chat if you need help. As for experience with the AI, I'm about regent level or so; not that good, not that bad.

I can theoretically play pretty much any time for the rest of today, considering I have nothing planned, but other people use the computer (plus something might come up). If I could name a time, I'd say 9:00 for one hour (which is 10:00 for one hour in your timezone)? And as you said, we can make schedules from each session (with the chat feature). We can also use PMs (private messages, which you send/receive from the UserCP, which is one of the buttons at the top of the screen); we probably shouldn't continue using this thread for scheduling. Also, are any days/nights usually better than others for you? For example, are your Sunday nights generally free? Just so that we can get a general schedule going.

WillJ,
Sounds good, although I would like to have at least 3 AI's to have the extra dynamics. I will be ready at just before 10:00 PM my time tonite. How do you want to communicate from here on?

@wwhill: Great. :) I should be ready at that time. 3 AI is fine. I guess we could communicate with PMs.

Edit: And is your multiplayer screen name wwhill?

What is PM's
It stands for private messaging. Go to your UserCP (which is one of the buttons at the top of almost any page of this website), then find the Private Messaging section (which is at the far right). From there, it's pretty self-explanatory. You can send PMs, reply to PMs, delete PMs, receive PMs, etc. It's pretty much like email.

Or we could contact via email, if you like, but I prefer PMs. :)

Actually, 9:00 isn't good for me anymore. Maybe 9:30-10:30 (my time)?

Well, looks like I'll be delayed a little bit longer. :( I should be ready pretty soon.

I am ready. I have a game set up. I choose regicide. I do not knoe what Sn00py's graphics are. It is a small random map with barbos

I'm at the multiplayer screen, and I don't see your game. What's it called?

I don't see it.

I have it set so that it shows all Internet games, but I don't see your game. Strange...

Nope, don't launch.

How about I host? It doesn't really matter who hosts. I'll call it WillJ vs. wwhill, and when you see it, double click it. :) Sound good? Oh, and to make sure no one else joins, I'll give it a password of "cfcrocks" (without the quotes).

And click the location bar (in the main multiplayer screen) a couple of times; make sure it says "Internet," not "local."
