what other games are the same game play as CIV3. just curious whats out there. thanks

I dont know whats out now, but Rise of Nations will be out sometime this year. I cant wait for that game to hit store shelves.
Hopefully it will ship with multiplayer in working condition.
I think that the person making RON is the same person responsible for civ 2.
CANT WAIT FOR MY NATION TO RISE!!!

While I'm looking forward to RoN since I heard of it 3 years ago, it's not going to be much like Civ3. It will be a RTS game with some Civ-like flavor (actually a lot). As an RTS it will have good MP (it's actually easier to do) and BR put that in first as it was mainly intended as MP. Since BR had 3 years to finish it, it should be very polished. OTOH, it is a RTS, and the typical game can go from stone-age to modern-era in an hour or so.

You know, for even as old as it is, SMAC (Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri) is still pretty cool to play.

It probably has one of those orange "nice price" stickers on it and could be a real steal...

I second the others in their anticipation of Rise of Nations. It is to be released Feb. 3rd in North America. I don't think it will ever replace Civ 3 and PTW on my hard drive, but it will be a nice change of pace at times.

WickedWombat, no kidding about that SMAC price: I got a copy at Wal-mart in the bargain bin for $4.99 back in Dec. 2000!
