Le Sage
Emperor
I have become known on the forums for being negative about Civilization 5. I am not trying to be negative, although I might use words and expressions, at times, that come at the heat of the moment. I am critical about many parts of what I've seen of Civilization 5 so far.
Although this, I have never in my life waited for a game with such enthusiasm. I am getting myself a brand new computer just for this game, I have saved summer vacation days for September instead and I am very much looking forward to running my first games, testing things out and also getting into the modding bits of the new game. I even changed my mind about Steam and signed up there when it was made known that Civ5 will go on Steam. I am indeed enthusiastic about the game as a whole, so never mind the details then.
I dislike some small details of what I've seen in the previews, yes. But I also like a lot of the new ideas. I am over the top about the new warfare. I can't wait to build real battle lines and fight real wars with flanks, centres, rears and advance guards! Nothing can be more thrilling than seeing the end of the Stack of Doom. I am enthusiastic about the introduction of hexes and I even love the new leader portraits!
I will be playing the game, I will love it and I will be making a version two of my mod for Civ5 as well.
I publish this here and now for the record, so I can referr to it in the future when the guys that hate me for my criticism now come back and ask me why I all of a sudden love Civ 5. They have even called me a hater, but they don't know the slightest bit about me. I have been following this classical game series since 1991 and I will be following it to the End of Days. I have a lot invested in it and I have the right to be critical. I am very much looking forward to the next instalment of Civilization 5.
