Lost CD 2

Hi,
I bought this game the day it came out, and unfortunately it did not run properly so I shelved it. Well, years went by and I went back to school and never picked up the game again. Well, went to install it today and can't find disk 2. Any ideas?

I assume you are talking about the original (vanilla) Sid Meier's Civilization IV? It does indeed require 2 discs. If you have tried and tried looking for the disc, and still can't find it, then you might want to look for your receipt (if you still have it) and see if the store you purchased it from is nice enough to negotiate with you about it. I don't think there is any legal and/or plausible way to install it without an owned disc 2. I am sorry to tell you, but honestly you may need to buy yourself another one if you cannot find the second disc. Good luck in the search!

if you do end up having to buy it again. Steam makes a nice alternative. You have the advantage of being able to run the game without having to have the CD in the drive, and you can redownload it at any time.

True, but the steam version is different in version itself, so if you are going to get it you want to get the expansion(s) in steam as well, or it won't work. It really is up to you.

I have the same problem. Anti pirate software sometimes hurts regular users.

You could always invest in one of the compilation editions that comes with original game + expansion(s)...if your really interested in getting back into civ.
