It says south of comanche but its impossible to find, it also is near some water but in a strange shape, plus its hard to tell where you are when you are searching on foot.

SW corner of bay of Honduras

the upper water in your map is the sea
the lower water is a lake.

Its one of the few bugged maps not showing where it really is
its in an other position wrong shown

I have a problem similar to this, but since it's on the XBox I can't post a screenie. It says "South of Comanche" but the water is on the RIGHT side of the map, probabl meaning on the other side of the Yucatan. Or somewhere nowhere near the Yucatan.

The thing is, I have no idea where it is, and don't know if I can get there before my crew's morale goes down the toilet.

Two seperate people reading it as "Comanche"? How very odd.

its said to be south of campeche but you should land east shore of youcatan south edge north of honduras,
and save on landing

and search around there untill you find it
then you have to just quick memorize where it was, reload the save immediately after landing and go straight to it

so you dont loose much time

In one game I found 2 maps where the object sought simply did not exist, even though I found all the correct map items in all their correct places.

Chalk it up to to the typical low quality of firaxis programing.

Edit:

I found those 2 things, finally. What happened was there are 2 landmarks with the same name in the same region where the map is labeled as being at, and I was searching around the wrong one. These 2 landmarks are right next to each other, but I missed spotting one of them because it is in a lake that cant be seen unless the player goes into one corner of a bay. Then you can barely see the landmark at the edge of the screen. The strange thing is both areas matched the map description. A lot of the landmark names are duplicated, you would think it would be a simple matter to give each one it's own specific name.

Looking at the Maya map posted above and reading the description where others said it probably was, I just realized that is the same area of the maps I was talking about. One was a lost Aztec city and other was Mendoza's stronghold. They turned out to be very close to each other and to the south and southeast of that lake at the bottom of the Maya map. The landmark was in the western end of the lake. On the map for Mendoza's stronghold, it said it was southeast of Villa Hermosa, while the Aztec map listed the location as in the region of Gran Grenada.

Now I got a Lost Maya City map with no landmarks, just says it's north of Vera Cruz. I tried landing just north of Vera, then several other places, each a little further north of the last landing. But never saw anything that matched the map. Apparently the developers of this cheesy console game didn't want players finding it.

One other thing I've noticed is that directions are messed up once you land. East and west are opposite. Probably north and south are, also. I saw that direction screw-up several times when searching for other things on land. It seems to be some weird intermittent bug. Other times, when using that ridiculously lame telescope to try and see what's around, the landscape will be upside down. I'm left wondering what these Firaxis people do during their work hours. They cant even seem to code the very minor changes they make to the newer versions of their games without leaving a product full of bugs.
