R there any mac mods. When i try to dl a mod and try to open it (such as the WWI) it says it cant open and the file may be corrupted

You've got to make sure they're made for Civ3, original version, not PTW or C3C. Basically, any file that is a .bic should run on the mac; however .bix files will not. Other than that, it could truly be a corrupted file, or it may need mac forks, binaries, or whatever that stuff is called.

If the mod is delivered as a .exe file then you will not be able to use it on a Mac. A .exe file is the Windows equivalent of a Mac application, and in this context they are usually self-extracting archives, like Mac .sea files, that install a set of data files in your Civ3 applicaton directory ... but only on a Windows machine.

If you know someone with a Windows Civ3 installation you may be able to get them to run the .exe file and extract the files. Then if they send them all to you in a .zip file you can install them into the relevant places in your Civ3 folder. An easy way to do this once you have the .zip file may be to use my Drag and Drop installer. Alternatively you need to transfer each file and/or folder from the unzipped file into the correct place in Civ3.

No Civ3 mod files need any of that stuff. The only file with a resource fork is possibly the Civ3 application file, and then only in OS 9 or below. All the other files are pure text or binary data files, and the same data files will work on Windows or Mac. See my other post regarding the special case of .exe files.
