In previous incarnations of Civ, the manual only covered the basics, the stuff necessary for playing the game but not for mastering it. While this is perfectly OK for a manual, it'd be great if there were an official, easily available (perhaps online) source of more detailed info (how corruption and waste works, how combat works, what advantages the AI has, what affects the AI's attitude toward you, etc.), so that people wouldn't have to discover it themselves or ask the developers themselves.

Note that I don't consider this a must-have, and I'd rather have a great, but rather mysterious game than an awful game with every detail known, but nonetheless it'd be a nice touch. And I doubt it'd be too hard to make; it's not like the developers don't have this info.

Note that this "super source" wouldn't have strategies. That's something for us players to discover; after all, that's the whole point of this game. It'd just have cold, hard information.

Thoughts?

yea the strategies are the emergant behavior of the rule set.
I want to see more customisability and moddable AI, for either of those it's necessary...

BTW Suki, you can modify the AI. When you set such things as 'build often' and 'build never' these can greatly affect AI behavior. If you have never done it, go mod the French and Indian civs to build offensive units often and make them slightly more warlike. You will see an entirely different game played by the AI.

The main problem that I have heard from the 'expert' players with the AI, is that its tactics are awful. The AI will attempt to march 15 turns to an undefended city in the tundra, all the while taking Modern Armor/Mech Infantry/Bomber/Artillery hits from the units that you set along the mountain ridge that you have placed along the best route for the AI army to travel (I have not actually done this, but I understand that this is entirely possible--hmm maybe I'll give it a try in my next game ;) )
