It will be sort of like the FFH mod, but it will stick more to the original D&D. There will be almost no regular units, only heros, but they will be easier to make, and a LOT more monsters; i will explain more when I get a team. I can't code, but I can design the whole mod: techs, units, promotions, etc.

EDIT: This will be for Vanilla civ4

DESIGNER: Me

CODER(s):

GRAPHIC MAKER(s):

Just a point of constructive critisism. Everyone wants to be the guy who gets to make all the decisions and then have others do all the work (programming, graphics, etc). You are unlikely to find a team willing to sign up for that.

You would be better off to start learning how to build the mod you want. Start reading tutorials (there are tons of good ones) and getting it as far as you can on your own. Get it out there for other people to play and if others enjoy it you may find others are willing to join in and help you out.

On the positive side you are more than welcome to use anything in Fall from Heaven to help you out. So that should give you a good starting point.

Good luck, and I look forward to trying your mod. :)

I can use FFH? Thanks! Now I just need to make char classes=upgrades, which allow abbilities... OK, TYVM! (FINALY! in Civ 4, there's no pesky DM who says I can't have a Red Dragon Druid/Fighter/Ranger/Bard/Necromancer!)

So, do you guys think that char classes as upgrades would work?

Yeap, in fact there are adventurers in FfH which are able to be upgraded to warriors, scout or adepts. The system works very well. You may also want to check out lutefisk's dungeon adventure which is build on the FfH engine:

so, what's better: the FFH upgrades (IE, adventurer->lvl1 fighter->lvl2, etc) or promotions (IE, John, adventurer gets level, promotes lvl1 wizard; level, promotion lvl2 wizard; lvel, promotion lvl1 rouge)

ALSO! how do you recomend I handle MoMF and Druid shapeshifting?

I dont know what MoMF us, but shapeshifting is pretty easy. We have a spell already that can turn the caster into a baboon if it goes horribly wrong. Making a spell that can switch a unit in a few different forms would be pretty easy.

I will warn that everyone wants to do design work and let someone else implement (ie: code). That won't work well because people who can implement are rare, they typically have their own projects they are working on, and even if you do get one for a while your project will be dead if they move on to other things.

Its better to roll up your sleeves and start doing it yourself. There will eb a lot to learn, and it will be slow going at first. But it will get easier and over time you will be able to do amazing things. Start simple, do the things you can figure out how to do and slowly try more and more complex things. The farther you go alone the more likely you are to pick up people to help you.

:lol: Remembers me of the diskworld librarian.
Is it permanent ?

It will be a lot easier to attract additional Modders (i.e. Artists :mischief:) to a project that already has taken some shape.
