Making one unit look like another?

Second post in one day. I'm needy.

So, I have a replacement unit for the swordsman in the 'learn to mod things' mod that I'm working on. It's just a stat change and an icon change. I was curious if there was a way to make it look like another unit, say the Legion or the Samurai?

EDIT: Would it make more sense to make a samurai replacement unit, then somehow squeeze it in the the normal progression of things?
