Mandatory Retirement 2050???

I'm playing Civ 3 for some years now - but every time I get lazy because I choose a big map and it takes too long. Now again this morning, at year 2030 I got a message which states; Mandatory Retirement 2050.

Is there any way of getting this out? Ofcourse I can play furter after 2050 but I want to game to end when I'm finished with conquered the world I hope someone can help me out of it!

Edit: Also - in which map of Civ3 do I have to put the maps which I downloaded?

a) You can keep playing on after 2050, but it won't keep score. There's no way out of it.
b) The "Scenarios" folder for Civ3, and the "Civ-content" folder for Complete.

So there's no way of taking up the score after 2050? It's a bit strange to me because it's a limit in the game and not a nice one. As I now understand, this is with everybody who got this game?

You can go into the editor and change it...

The maximum is 999 turns, which, plus the first turn, is 1000 turns. 2050 is 540 turns.

Only in conquest. If you play vanilla or ptw you're doomed.
Unless you use a debugger / hex editor / disassembler and find the right bytes to change in the binary file.
Before you ask, i didn't try it. 640 turns are more than enough for me.

Actually, if you have PTW, you aren't.

When you load the game up, and are selecting your civ, hit the "Game Limits" button, and set "Game Turns" to 1000.
