Al-Iskander
Warlord
...though this could probably be used for RFC too.
Anyway, to the chase. If you don't want to read the readme, see the screenshots at the bottom.
If Readmes are your kind of thing, then read on.:
In the tradition of the Zoroastrian and other religion modcomps for RFC and RAND, this mod re-skins Judaism into Manichaeism, a Gnostic Abrahamic religion from Persia in the Mid-Third Century AD whose influence was felt everywhere from Roman Britain to China Proper for over a thousand years.
Other than the readily obvious graphical changes, the following alterations should be noted:
Liberties taken with naming due to spotty historical information on Manichaeism:
*Manichaean Cathedral is the Temple of the Light
*Manichaean Shrine is the Shrine of Mani
*Starting Technology moved to Philosophy, ideally to have it appear after Christianity and Buddhism, though this admittedly won't always happen.
Further Alterations to XML:
*Assets\XML\Text\CIV4GameText_Strategy.xml was updated to reflect both Manichaeism coming from Philosophy and Taoism's prior move to Calendar.
*Assets\XML\Text\CIV4GameTextInfos_Objects.xml was updated to include correct adjectival information for Manichaeism (in English only). Random Events and the Apostolic Palace will no longer refer to Manichaeans as "Jewish" (see screenshot at the end).
*Manichaean SpreadFactor bumped up to 150. I don't know if this will affect anything.
*Unlike Judaism, Manichaeism's founder gets a free Missionary unit.
Alterations to Python:
*Removed all references to Judaism/Manichaeism from Religions.py. Hopefully this won't upset the starting time for Christianity.
Things which I did not change, which someday could be:
*Sounds, missionary, and shrine graphics, all of which are still from Judaism.
*Most building graphics still from Zoroastrianism, though this isn't a priority issue for me, since they both represent pre-Islamic Iranian religions.
*Non-English translations in about 80% of all cases.
Consequences Forseen and Not:
*Indian UHV will now be rather different. I have no idea whether it will be easier or harder.
*Yerushalayim as an independent city will no longer spawn Judaism.
*The distribution of religion in the "European" civs may now get even weirder.
*Greece's UHV may get weird, since it now essentially requires you to found Manichaeism.
