MAnimal Pbem - when man to man is a wolf

Ummm...I don't think I can do battle reports to be honest...like....ever, like, in all the civ3 gaming time I ever play! So I guess I can either drop out if that's unacceptable, or I can try and perhaps fail the reports. I also might get sick of posting reports, but I guess I can see. If it's not too difficult, I guess I can manage it, but it seems complicated to me.

You're not going anywhere Celt!!! You'll do fine. It just looks crazy.
Plus that should be at least 30 turns away, maybe. Don't let it scare you.

All you really need is something like this.

Battle for the City of Kiev. (Short & Simple were one knows the place now)
A Austrian Hussar defeats 1 Russian Cossack.

Hussar -1 (3/4) vs Cossack

Thats about it.

The above shows that a Hussar took -1 to his Hps and is now 3 of 4 in health.
The underline means the Cossack is destoried.

Don't worry you can't fail a report. Its just basic note taking.
There is program wrote for Battle Reports in the Threads. I
will never use it
:nya: But I know other "Friends" use it.
It can keep track of all your units for you. Just look in the tech programs.

Hell by the time we get 40 turns in you'll be posting longer winded stuff then me. Like I said its just a game.

Basically, you can either post reports here or to the person you attacked. They need not be detailed. They just need to get the point across since only the attacker gets to see the animation.

Also, last player gets to see the barb actions, IIRC. I would assume that doesn't have to be reported unless it's pretty bad for somebody else.

I've asked Beorn and I'll send him the info now.

Is it this?

Size: Standard with 4 Random AI
Map: Random (but fair, no getting stuck in huge mountain ranges)
Level: Emperor
Barbs: Roaming
No Regicide of any kind.
No Scientific Leaders
No Coastal Blocking
Razing (Till the Smoke Blackens the Skies)
Accelerated Production. (It just speeds up the game nothing to Fear)

All other rules that come up.

Prefered civs:
soul - China
blaze - Korea
flyingkitty - Celts
Tribute - Iroquois

:salute:

I happen to have just made a map for Tribute ... map is a pangea, quite (don't you like understatements ;)) fair at that, with a couple twists  I'll warn you about  but may not explicitly tell

SoZ at 300\{ivory}, KT a small wonder?

I could shoot another up quickly if you want something less symmetrical. I'll have a little time tomorrow afternoon to polish either choice you make. If you want the wilder map (geographically wilder, it comes completely equipped with all the wilderness previously mentioned) I would just need to know whether you want contacts possible with non-seafaring alpha, astro or nav.

And if you want custom leaderheads (or civs altogether, like IND/COM Canada with RCMP cavalry UU), ask away.

Template:

Title: Ampersand
Name: &
Formal: Punctuation
Noun: Mayans
Adjective: Additive

IIRC it gives "Ampersand & of the Mayans", Capital (Additive), Warrior (Additive)

Spoiler Tribute :
Title: Chief
Name: Tamed Horse
Formal: Horse Rider
Noun: Iroquois
Adjective: Equestrian

Spoiler Soul :
Title: Mister
Name: Charlie
Formal: VC
Noun: Saboteur
Adjective: Revolutionary Forces

Spoiler Blaze :
Title: The Neo Kuroi Kurohyou Project 08
Name: Detective Ian Morgan
Formal: Number 8
Noun: Panther Empire
Adjective: Black Panther Projects

Spoiler kitty :
Title: Snow Leopard
Name: Dantos
Formal: The Dominion
Noun: Snovemdomas
Adjective: Snovemdoman

For future (self-)reference, the correct order for the template would be

Name: Dantos
Formal: The Dominion
Noun: Snovemdomas
Adjective: Snovemdoman
Title: Snow Leopard

@flyingkitty: battle reports are a necessary pain in the butt since you don't get to see what the others do in your IBT ... it would make warfare blind and much less enjoyable :hammer:

Something like this is more than the necessary, simple to reproduce and gets the point across:

North of the strait
4/4 archer on 4/4 jag: jag retreats at 1/4, archer goes 3/4

Title: Mister
Name: Charlie
Formal: VC
Noun: Saboteur
Adjective: Revolutionary Forces

any map generated by the big bear is fine by me.
)also willing to place a minor bribe for ponies and iron and coal within my riverside 4BG capitol ;))

reports are needed, but i usually forgo the full stats.
i will report along the lines of:
attacked #cityname# of the greek, took it, lost 2 archers, killed 3 spears.
just to add some meat to it.

ill also make a wee story sometimes :D

Alright, so it's a pangea, ~70% water, rather flat and with good balance. I'll notify of the twists  when I'm done with it - there just might be more, you never know ;)

If it's not too late (sorry, had to go for a 4hr sleep!):

Title: Snow Leopard
Name: Dantos
Formal: The Dominion
Noun: Snovemdomas
Adjective: Snovemdoman

Map is ready. Changes include:

- SoZ for 300\{ivory}
- KT is a small wonder, costs a bit more, crusader every 6 rather than 5, decreases propaganda/WW
- Even though this is a pangea, GLH and Magellan should be worthwhile wonders for coastal cities :mischief:
- Guerillas and Marines are now worth building (strenghtened + blitz) as well as various units boosts
- ivory gives 1s 1g (like furs), Spices 1f 1g (like wines) to balance out starts
- Emperor level, roaming barbs, AP, no regicide and no SGL as requested
- Mech inf can transport foot soldiers
- Boarding crew added to everyone for an extra wildcard during the knight age
- Reworked specialists so that better ones require better techs (Lit, Curr, Economics and Sci Meth)

Map is balanced, fair and friendly, but not necessarily kind ;)

PM me your passwords, I'll email the starting player with the first save.

Everything is done and ready, waiting for 2 more passwords.

A single tiny inconvenience came up during testing: Tribute had his first turn autoskipped - but then he's player #1, so it's just as if he was booted to player #5. I won't put too much thought into this unless Mr Tribute wants it set, anyways the play order was randomized by the order in which I saw the players so he could've ended 4th either way.

Enjoy, and don't forget that while looking into the 'pedia for unit stats works, it doesn't give out the added surprises for water wonders ;)

Game is in the mail.

thanks, Beorn :goodjob:

my email (without the spaces: troykemp @ gmail . com)

I'll need FlyingKitty's Addy. You can PM if you like.
Easier to keep that way.

Hey,

Waiting for Flyingkitty's address.

But here is the save for you.

http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/55672/001_Manimal_Blaze.sav

Number 8 rolled over & opened his eyes. He was laying
at the edge of a slow moving river on a vast plain.
But what interested & frightened him was the Village
across the River.
Capitalstart.jpg

I hate these kinds of starts. Do you build were your at
& pop it without having any defense. Do you waste a
turn or 2 to move?

This is tuff already. Thanks Beorn. :goodjob:

Blaze Injun

Hmmm....I got no hut, but I think it was perhaps intentional to balance out my start, I don't know. I think that flood plain will help you because you're not agricultural, so I guess that's a fair spot for you to start in.

*GPS to soul warrior*

Missed that end bit there!...

I would start where you are. You can't get barbarians from it because you have no warriors, so you don't need to worry about that.
