OK, GPS to Tribute

It'll probably take me a couple of turns to get used to whats going on and what Flying Kitty was doing.

I read that city names should not be changed, but I'm hoping I'll be able to rename my inherited cities to a more manageable name set. These are all alot like the default Aztec city names. Any problems if I do that next turn?

Yay! This thing's getting started again. Welcome, denyd!

There's no problem here, as long as you post the name changes of the top two cities at the very least. (because that's the most what we can see in the Top 5 Cities list). Actually, I don't even mind if you don't tell us the name changes since I don't even remember what cities flyingkitty had anymore. :)

I was thinking of using names of other 80's TV Characters (ie Kojak, Banaczek, Columbo, etc)

I ended up using my normal city names for PBEMS (anyone want to take a guess where I got Trantor, Terminus, etc from?)

GPS to Tribute

BTW: a couple of interesting items

1. When I view my cities, the spot where citizens with happy faces would be is blank, but when I mouse-over, there is an icon there
2. There are a couple of victory point markers that have been uncovered with a road (unlkely built my Flying Kitty) in place
3. There are at least ruins of at least 2 cities that have been discovered so far, yet it's unlikely there's been any wars
4. Are any victory conditions disabled?
5. What is the setting for barbarians?

didnt know about the mouse thingees, but the ruins and roads have been sighted long ago.

a word of caution - the barbs are smart here. and they also like the comfort of travelling on roads.....

Hey,

I ended up using my normal city names for PBEMS (anyone want to take a guess where I got Trantor, Terminus, etc from?)

If anyone guesses please use a spoiler box. I know the answer because I have read the books.
I have to wait to get into my boxes of books.

Not a clue about this.

To quote our map maker Beorn-eL-Feared

"I happen to have just made a map for Tribute ... map is a pangea, quite (don't you like understatements ;)) fair at that, with a couple twists  I'll warn you about  but may not explicitly tell"

4. Are any victory conditions disabled?
5. What is the setting for barbarians?

- SoZ for 300\{ivory}
- KT is a small wonder, costs a bit more, crusader every 6 rather than 5, decreases propaganda/WW
- Even though this is a pangea, GLH and Magellan should be worthwhile wonders for coastal cities
- Guerillas and Marines are now worth building (strenghtened + blitz) as well as various units boosts
- ivory gives 1s 1g (like furs), Spices 1f 1g (like wines) to balance out starts
- Emperor level, roaming barbs, AP, no regicide and no SGL as requested
- Mech inf can transport foot soldiers
- Boarding crew added to everyone for an extra wildcard during the knight age
- Reworked specialists so that better ones require better techs (Lit, Curr, Economics and Sci Meth)

I'm glad you asked these questions I forgot about all this.

Boarding crew added to everyone for an extra wildcard during the knight age

So any guesses as to what that meant

Also wondering what good blitz is to a 1-move unit (guerillas & marines)

(Yep to you both, Foundation is a great series.)

Tribute:
I feel young and uncultured. I should read Asimov

Start with either Foundation or Caves of Steel, both are the beginning of a great series.
