manually transferred savegames - where to put them?

i could sometimes use a way of manually transferring a savegame to another machine, so the civ4 of my teammate finds it and doesnt have to download it through the arguably effective internal method.

so, where to put manually transferred multiplayer savegames so civilization 4 finds them?
where does civ4 put them when downloading via the internal downloading?

If u use XP it is C:\Documents and Settings\UserAccountName\My Documents\My Games\Sid Meiers Civilization 4\Saves\SaveGameType

if it put it there, civ4 just re-downloads it
that's the problem
