Is there any way of shifting one end of the map en masse?
Basically, one is thinking of taking a 'Europe Map', and putting the right extreme just a few squares right of the Caspian, rather than have a whole lot of Siberia.
With the "space" gained, one wants to widen the Atlantic considerably, and add a little, little more land to the tip of America.

Can this be done, or would such an endeavour have to start from scratch? :ack: (In which case one would be quite hard pressed to do it off the top)

Simon,

You might have to convert the map to a bitmap and then add your land. I believe that there is a program out there that can do that, but the name escapes me right now... Anyone, anyone?

Mercator's MapEdit - can be found in the utility downloads section.

Excellent. Thanks muchly for the directions. :yeah:
Now, one has been able to create a wide Atlantic that adds distinct flavour to the Battle of the Atlantic in the 1980s, for Red Storm Rising.
Now Ireland is 30+ squares away from the Irish coast, which, combined with minimizing transport capabilities and speeds, should help create a truer sense of the difficulty of reinforcement of the NATO forces in Europe.
It is at the cost of Omsk and Novossibirsk, but they were sacrifices that had to be made. :D
Now, the placing of cities, the replacement of some units, and tweaking of figures, proportional unit placement/representation, and then one will have the beginnings of a workable modification of a scenario. :ack:
Hmm...one has aboot 6 or 7 unit vacancies; what to replace them with...the F-111, Mirage F1,Harrier, Su-25 come to mind...:ack::scan:
