So, I spent 3 nights searching for the perfect map and get one with 2 cows, a river in the initial expansion and a second site nearby on the coast with a wine & 2 whales. Then I pop a nearby hut for a settler, all set right. Not really, I research all the way to 500 BC discovering 8 technologies before anyone else, but not SGLs. Now what? Abandon the game and try again is what I and a lot of the other HOF players do. It seems a waste to throw away the inital great starting location.
I didn't see anything against this in the rules, so I'll toss the idea out and if Superslug wants to squash it (how ironic to have a Slug do the squishing for a change), that's fine, but would anyone be adverse to using a thread for posting 4000 BC saves with a screenshot & a brief description (level, tribe, size, etc)? Since you'd be starting without anymore map knowledge than usual, all the same challenges would be present, yet the many iterations of MapFinder (I remember someone mentioning over a million tries) could be avoided.
