Map seeds for consoles

Is there any chance you guys/gals could start posting the map seed so us console players could at least play the map for the month.

The problem for us is that we do not create a single map. As there are no good tools to edit maps, we create up to 40 maps in the 6otM creation process and then test them to select the save we want to use. I do not know how to extract the map seed information once the save is selected and keeping track of them all is certainly an issue. Plus, don't you get the correct map using map seeds but the civs are not always placed in the same spots?

It would be better if we could make saves available, but I do not know how to do that either. How do you upload saves on a switch and where do you get them from? Can you download them from this site?
 
@leif erikson If you load the save then you can find the seed on the bottom of the menu that contains "Save/Load/Options" (you need to hover the mouse over the bottom). I think his problem is that you cannot download/upload a file to console, so if only a save is available then console players cannot play. But if the seeds are available, then console players can duplicate the settings (select exactly the same options and enter the seed) so that they can play.

My point remains that just because they have the map doesn't mean the City-States and Player Civs are in the same places as in the save we provide. So they aren't playing the same game?

Oh there are two seeds, map seed and game seed, usually they only differ by 1 unless you specify them. If both are provided then the Civ/CS are fixed so it's completely the same game. Game seed is the one that determines Civ/CS.

It definitely works... it's how one would create a T1 save from a later save date if you lost the T1 autosave or forgot to manually save it yourself anyways.
 
With the reveal that the GotMs are actually selected with pre-set Civ AI opponents, my understanding is that you would also need that information as part of the games setup / settings for the game to match.

To make it safe I think we should play a month behind.

I mean for this to work we need more info than should be released before the games are played.

Besides there probably won't be that many of us anyway.

I'm getting ready to load up 6otm92 so I'll post here the nearest Civ/CS I meet. I would think with the game and map seed # that it would load in the appropriate Civs and CSs.
 
Ok I changed all of the settings I could from the 6otm92 thread, and I got a start on the coast so maybe we would need the Civ info, or maybe map the the seeds aren't cross platform compatible.

Not a big deal thanks for trying.
 
Please keep trying, if we can find a way to make it work, let's do it.

Problem is that I do not have a console, so cannot test anything.

You must download files from somewhere?
 
I'm not sure whether or not consoles can download save files, but almost certainly consoles can recreate the games by matching all of the settings, including AI selections and seed information (game seed + map seed).
