MapFinder Settings

yes - make the OR an AND and you will reduce the size a lot. I think what you are doing is saving any map with a grass forest, OR the other stuff. I'm not sure exactly how the logic chains.

I generally make everything an AND.

I would also dump the luxury. That will pretty radically restrict the number of maps you get.

Replace alternation with conjunction... I mean "OR" with "AND". As I understand it, the settings you've posted would give you any map which has exactly one forest on grassland or has all of the other conditions satisfied. That seems like a lot of river squares. 2 cow starts I think, on average will take a while to find if you limit those two cows to the initial 9 squares you can see. Plenty of 1 cow in the 9 initial squares have another cow nearby. You only need to found the capital to see this (just make sure you want to put the capital there, as you can't reload for the HoF)... so, make sure to move the worker before the settler in general, and consider scouting with the settler delaying to found until 3950 BC or 3900 BC, which generally isn't all that big of a deal.

Hmm. That must have been it, MF saved every forest map. I did what you guys said and after going through 500 maps during the night MapFinder found me a map with lots of cows - a nice surprise in the morning. I played it and have submitted a 20k deity 1754 finish! :)
