Master of Magic remake - Hello Worlds of Magic!

really curious about the screenshots.

no offense but when i looked at your site your past games were all very ... lets say basic in graphics to not sound rude ... and as much as i love Master of Magic and the way your game sounds ... with graphics like Strategic War in Europe i ll think i d unfortunately have to pass.

Gameplay > graphics and all and i m the last one to need fancy 3d graphics in a strategy game .... but look for example how good Panzer Corps looks in comparision despite also being "only 2d". I m replaying it right now and like its graphics alot - especially how battery saving they are ( i can play panzer corps 5 hours on my laptop whereas 3d games last at most 2 hours on a full battery charge ).

oh well, here s hoping you guys manage a nice graphics & art style and i ll have another fantasy TBS to look forward to in addition to AoW3 and the Fallen Enchantress Expansion. and if not i ll wish you the best anyways for making a spiritual sequel to the awesome Master of Magic even if not for me.

Even if you consider that this is a pre-alpha I think you can see some advantages over the previous games.

(Actually the Strategic War in Europe was made to look familiar to classic board games)

let me be brutally honest with you:

those graphics dont look as good as i ve hoped : i d have prefered high-res 2D with a good artstyle instead. too many small studios IMHO waste time on 3d when they could get far better looking games in 2d but i dont know much about developing, so maybe its easier going for 3d than high-res 2d ?

...BUT you know what : your graphics look okay to me ! its honestly a lot better than i expected/feared and something i could learn to accept if the gameplay is the Master of Magic i loved back in the days. so i ll gladly follow your project from now on =)
 
Cost of assets usually depends on the project. We have calculated that the cost of creating the 3D assets will be lower than 2D assets. Also if you consider that managing 3D assets is much easier than 2D, then you know why we have decided to go 3D.
Also please remember this is really pre-alpha especially in terms of the gfx. We are working hard on the game mechanics (especially that we are aiming to make the D20 module kind of separate) but indeed the graphic is what you see. :)

So if you are OK with what you see now, you should be happy with the final version of the game.

I don't know if I'm at least a tiny bit recognizable in these parts of civfanatics, but I'm happy to say that I'll be working on some 2D art assets for Worlds of Magic :) I've already done a fair bit of early artwork, and I'm allowed to post samples in the future... Hope you are interested, as the game is certainly looking good so far :)
 
I converted it to dollars to find more common ground or something.
 
i'm skeptical about this but if you guys ever go over 30 000 pounds on kickstarter, i would strongly suggest NOT adding more spells. adding more spells to the game in the middle of development might screw the balance within different circles of magic.
 
If they make their goal, instead of adding more magic, they could just make it all octarine.
 
No, I suspect it's not a rael word. I've never even heard of rael words. They must be quite exquisite.

Hey there! First of all, sorry for triple posting. Really want to get feedback from you, guys!

Well, I am incredibly happy to announce that we have reached our base goal, so the minimum funding for development is now guaranteed! That's BIG THANKS to all of you guys. Now we are trying to hit some stretch goals, and make sure that the game will be released with as much content as possible.
