I've heard before about MS "Bob", but until now never knew what it was. Oddly enough, I sort of like it (in a "that's cute" sort of way, not in a "I'd use that" sort of way). If it were released today, it would probably take off, but 1995 was definately the wrong time for something like that, since the proportion of computer users that were computer-illiterate was much smaller than it is now. Though, many people really, really hate Clippy, and I could just imagine how much the people who hate Clippy would hate an OS that was full of such "cute" Clippy-like things.

It looks like "Rover" has been re-intergrated into MS Office. Rover is one of the Office Assistants that you can select, I think.
