Military Occupation Question

Does anyone else feel that the number of troops that can occupy a given city should be limited by your civic choices, and/or city size?

You could have exceptions...ie police units that actually have effects on the city, but weak strength. I also feel that modern aircraft should be on a tile improvement airport outside the city, and not in cities. Both of these changes would help to simulate a more real strategic combat situation.

On another note I would like to see a national guard unit that can perform worker functions, and an engineer unit too for that matter. These could be upgrades too.

Someone else was commenting on this as well I think...What do you think?

I've been looking for a code task. What kind of things would I need to do, specifically to limit occupation forces by civic choice. Say 5 at highest and 0 at lowest....0 would incorporate the exception unit.

I guess I would be editing the civics, as well as editing cities. I don't think the AI would have too much difficulty if it knows either the city can hold more units, or not.

Then of course I would have to make a police unit. Available to the proper 0 occupation civic.
