I am sure this has already been implemented somewhere. I would like to add minefields and maybe minesweepers to my mod. Maybe it is possible with XML only. I would like to have the mines laid by a worker, once you have a certain technology. They should be invisible to other players, but still visible to me in case I forget where I put them.

Does this already exist in a mod somewhere I could borrow? Any thoughts on how to implement it?

I had Anti_Person_Mines, Anti_Tank_Mines, Bunkers, Entanglements, Labour_Camps, Naval_Mine, SeaFarms, SeaMines and Trenches in my Japanese Mythology Mod, but it was for Warlords, you'd have to convert very little python over to BtS, most of it is just XML. :p

Thanks for the pointer, I downloaded it and took a look. What I found is four improvements. Antipersonnel mines, antitank mines give -15%, -30% to tile defense and act as cities for combat purposes. Entanglements, trenches give +15%, +30% to tile defense and act as cities for combat purposes. Workers can build them. It seems that they can be destroyed by any pillage operation. There are no promotions that seem to apply, such as minesweepers. I didn't look at the python, it seems to be all XML.

Did I miss anything related to minefields? The mod is pretty huge.

How would players use these units: an outer ring of mines and an inner ring of trenches? Then trenches acting as city allows the defender's promos to come into play such as city garrison. So I don't understand why the mines would act as cities, it seems to give a benefit to the attacker.

Does the AI appropriately place mines or trenches?

Its been so long since i had anything to do with it, sorry, i really dont remember hard anything about it, but i am sure you could rearrange it to your purposes, to fit any situation that you wanted. From what i see from your mod, your pretty good at doing that, and when i put that stuff in, i was just testing it out, and really didnt have a chance to find out exactly what i did, no offense.
