Mini Map Mod?

I've searched here and in the Steam workshop and I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. The minimap drives me nuts. The city icons on the map are big white squares which is fine when your map is small. But as you explore and the map starts to zoom out the white squares don't scale at all, staying the same size. For me, I play on a really large map, it gets to the point where said white squares take over the minimap rendering it useless.

The image below shows my current map and I still have areas left to explore so the white boxes will eventually start to overlap and block everything. Also it would be nice if we could zoom in and out.
