As I'm recently started to play the game again after the DLC where on sale, I'm getting really found of Civ again.

But after a couple of play through to get the rust out of the machinery I have noticed something common.

In all my games the Earth Map lacks the gold and silver resource.

I'm have been scouting all the map, checked with every City State and Civilizations, but there is always 1 or none how owns gold. Yet none owns silver and it isn't on the map.

Do I pick the wrong settings at the start?
Normal temperate and abundant resources.
And what does the rain, temperature do?

I have tried to find the answer in the info center, but haven't found them yet so can anyone help?
As my citizens want their bloody gold and silver.

# of unique luxuries in general: Depends upon # of major civs in the game. (Fewer civs -> fewer luxuries)

Abundant : Just means 50% more strategic resources: 2 Iron source is 3 and a 4 Horse source is 6.

It's Legendary that increases # of luxury tiles near starting locations.

Rain : More Jungle; Less Desert (arid is reverse)

Temperature : affects ratio of cold tiles vs hot tiles

I always plays on the Huge map with 22 civs and 41 City States, but every time there is no gold or silver on the map.
There is a lot of all the other resources, so it's just weird that there isn't a single tile of these 2 things.

In the latest game a City State was the owner of the only gold source on the map, but still no bloody silver. I could understand the problem if I played on a small map with 2 civs only, but on such a large scale?

The "Earth" map isn't a script and is slightly bugged, as far as I know the options such as Abundant have no effect, seeing as they seem to "stick" from the previous selected map script.

Can I then add silver and gold to various places on the map with an editor, or have they completely removed it from the game as I can't find it?

Yeah I know but I was thinking about the Map Editor that Civ 4 had.

Can I do the same thing in Civ 5?

You can download the World Builder yes, but you'd have to manually put in ALL of the resources, not just the Gold and Silver.

Found a mod where I can change an ongoing game like in Civ 4, so I can add a couple of gold and silver veins to the map now.

Thanks for the help. :)
