Mitt Romney Doesn't Think Much Of My Intellect

Additionally I think it's rather lame to fund a political campaign out of your own pocket.

If people aren't excited about you, why are you running?

The only real candidate in the race with any kind of popular support at this time is Obama. He raised as much money as Hillary... from almost exactly twice as many donors.

Money doesn't buy votes, it only buys the voter's ear. Romney may have all the money in the world and he may even dip into his own fortune but he doesn't have a chance in hell so I don't see why he bothers.

Of Romney's $20+M, only $2M was his own, unless I missed something. That puts him far, far ahead of any of the other GOP candidates and still not that far behind Sens. Clinton and Obama.

I think you're obviously not aware of Mitt's considerable money making skills and his ~$2.3 mill contribution is only a loan. Quite brilliant, really.

He's fully taken advantage of the fact he does not hold a federal office so he's not beholden to the new campaign finance rules which bar them from operating state affiliates and thus cannot accept more than $5,000 from any contributor each year.

Whereas, Florida investment adviser Lee Munder gave $5,000 to Romney's federal PAC, $18,250 to his Iowa affiliate, $18,250 to the one in Michigan, and $3,500 to the one in South Carolina.

Talking to me? I knew the $2M was a loan, but I was unaware of the details around the remaining $20M...

What do you think is making him so popular among the crowd with thousands to give to a political campaign? Does he have some economic plan that's exciting businessmen? Surely investors wouldn't be putting thousands into a campaign without expecting some serious returns...

Sorry IC I was directing it at PP's comments since he's under the impression that Mitt gave all his own money for the campaign.

I think Mitt is having success with money people because they've seen him generate huge success with the Olympics but more importantly the fact that the economy turned around in Massachusetts under his watch.

Finance people are deathly afraid of our excessive government spending so hearing the words "veto" is music to our ears.

I think he'd do fine on this front but it's all the other ancillary issues he would have to overcome.
