I need help I am mobilized for war and I don't know how to get it back to normal mobilization, its probably something stupid but I can't figure it out please help?

That's right,

Maybe there should have been a huge warning screen:

'Watch out, this option sucks!'

Anyone ever used this one for real? I mean like it actually helped?

I used mobilization successfully once. I was second on the continent when the bigger guy attacked me. It was a cav era though I shortly got tanks before he did. His main attacking force was a stack of 40+ cav. So I mobilized and railroaded lots of conscripts plus my regular forces around and first killed lots of his stack, then finished his stack. Without the conscripts it would have been very hard to both destroy his large and also defend against any of his cav that survived after my turn. It was quantity versus quantity at that point and the conscripts paid off.

I have used mobilization successfully. Usually mobilize once or twice a game. Mobilization requires some planning and forethought to be effective. Obviously the danger is being stuck mobilized for too long a period, thus you need to be sure u have a plan for unmobilizing from the beginning. In terms of shear beauty fo industrial output my high point was a combined golden age and mobilization in the modern era (French/Emperor) my core cities were cranking out over 170 shields per turn without nuclear plants. I think i cranked out over 300 units of modern era military in 20 turns of which about 1/3 was mobilized.

Mobilization suits my style very well, since im not a warmonger. I like to focus on commmercial industrial strength, buy all my science up to theory of evolution, and basically keep weak militaries til industrial age. The mob thus allows me to rapidly build my military for my endgame wars.

The draft on the other hand is something i would only use in desperation.
