Mod Install Help

I just bought Civilization 4 (No Expansions) and want to add some of the wonders people have made but not sure where to put the files so that the mods work and so I don't screw up my game.

I did search through the modding forums first to see if this was answered so if I missed it then my apoligies for making a new topic about it.

Generally you will install custom stuff either as a mod in the dedicated mod folder, or in the custom assets folder - both found in MyDocuments\MyGames\Civ4... - either way you will allways mees around on copies of the original files you or modmakers put into these folders, so basicly you can't screw up nothing - if everything else fails you can still delete the complete CustomAssets folder to revert the game to original state.

You might have trouble finding mods working on Vanilla however, as most moders moved on to Warlords/Bts long ago.

Its still quite esay to add downloaded stuff yourself...

That seems easy enough. Can anybody point me toward some Civ 4 mods that will work with just the original since very few oif them say what game they work for?
