I know this has been brought up before, but it's been more than a year since anyone asked. So I'll ask again in the hopes that this thread gets an answer.
I have Civ VI on Epic. ModBuddy is only available on Steam. I am not going to purchase the full game on a second platform just to get access to ModBuddy or the development assets; it seems highly unfair that we are stuck having to select only one of the two available platforms if we want to get access to development tools that are, if I am seeing/reading things right, nearly required to create mods for this game. It's a bit frustrating, really.
So, my question: Does anyone have a link to download ModBuddy and/or the development assets without having the game on Steam? I have a fully qualified, purchased copy of the game on Epic, I have it installed on my desktop, and I play the game regularly. But I'd like to try my hand at modding the game with a custom civilization/leader, and all the tutorials/guides I see out there use ModBuddy for this.
Sans that, does anyone have a link to a custom civ/leader mod that already exists that I can cannibalize by hand? I ask because, once again, mods aren't available on the Epic game store, and you need the game on Steam to get access to and download mods there (except for one pack that included Detailed Map Tacks that I found). So if someone has a link to a custom civ, I can grab that and pore through it manually (not the best solution, but it can be done).
Any help here would be extraordinarily keen. I mean, I could probably pore through one of the installed DLC packs I have (Babylon comes to mind as one of the things I want to do is increase cost for Culture, and Babylon increases cost for Science, which is similar). But I need to know the folder structure and file layout for mods, and I'm not sure if copying an existing DLC civ would get me where I need to go.
