You don't even need a headset, just use your speakers.

They have cheaper ones out there, but assuming you can get to a Best Buy, then you can pick up this Dynex® - Voice-Certified PC Desktop Microphone for $17.99.

If you want a slightly better USB headset you can pick up this Logitech - Premium Stereo Headset with Microphone for $28.99.

Just to give you some ideas, but microphones themselves are pretty cheap these days.

youre right, but your also wrong. Yes you can use a $4 desktop mic, but it will sound like sh*t and the editing will be miserable because of occasional feedback.

So woodelf, while this is technically feasible, you actually would make my edit more difficult if you followed Shqype's directions. So please buy a headset mic.

we record this month on the 6th, 13th, and the 27th, so get ahold of me on "skype" as "garretsidzaka" or yahoo as "ringworldwu".
we basically wait till everyone shows up, and if there are enough people attending, we start the show.
i asked asioasioasio if he will make it on the 6th, too. but so far it has been difficult arranging things for everyone to actually show up

So if he buys a standalone mic, it should be one with noise reduction feedback cancelling properties

Anyway, if you do want to get a headset, here is a really good one for your money: Logitech Extreme 3.5mm Connector Supra-aural PC Gaming Headset for $11.99 (plus S&H). I don't know if you've used NewEgg before, but it's GREAT! The best place to buy computer hardware (and all things electronic) online.
