[MODCOM] Sniper Mod - Teaser Pic

This is one of the most exciting mods, and I can't wait to play it :D

Thanks, I just put the finishing touchs on the harass feature, now I have to test it myself and send it to the testers!!!

I haven't read through the entire topic but I notice this mod has the ability to kill off specialists in cities. I know you said this feature can be turned off, however, what I am wondering is, if one of these specialists is killed, does the GP amount drop as well.

For example: My mod has GP spawning every 100 pts. you get the first at 100 the next at 200 then 300, etc. If one of these was used to make a super specialist and then later got killed by a sniper, would the GP point requirement drop?

It might be an interesting feature to implement. What do you think?

Why would it? If anything it should go up, making it harder to get the next super-specialist. After all, if somebody's up there on a hill picking off specialists you probably aren't going to get a lot of people volunteering for the position. ;)

No, the GPP threshold value would not go down... honestly, it wouldn't make any sense for it to go down. Especially since players could replace the killed specialist.

The sniper mod has been distributed to testers and if nothing goes wrong :hammer2: knock on wood :hammer2: it should be ready for release this Sunday!!!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed. If it is working on Sunday that will give me 3 days to get it working in my mod. I'm sure it won't take that long to get it to work in my mod, but I did plan to have it ready by the 10th. :p

Alright folks, I think I have done as best as I could in testing this mod, it should be up in a few mins!!!!!
 
Don't know if you're aware of this yet TheLopez, but the hyperlink in your sig that says "Sniper Mod" links to some very old thread. :p

But I did find it nevertheless. Can't wait to install and try it out. :D
 
Does this mean that the bombard/realistic artillery mod will be coming soon also? Or does that mod involve dealing with a whole new range of issues to come about?

Actually, the ranged unit mod is almost done, I am just putting some new features, then I'll start doing some testing, then I'll distribute it to my testers...
